In July 2019 I published another questionnaire to assess your tastes in female muscle comics. In this particular list of questions, I was looking for which relationships between characters you find the most exciting. You find the original survey here still.
Basically, I asked you to tell me which of the following relationships you were most interested in (we're always talking about strong, muscular women and tiny, short men).
423 people answered this survey (I would have gotten more responses if I would've put this survey in the newsletter as well, but I got enough as it was). Let me tell you something about the results (which I'm taking into account for my comics about amazon women).
Four of these options got noticeably fewer positive ratings, and there's a common thread among them: family relationships. Even though I'm not talking about blood relatives (there's the step-part, you know), people clearly seem less enthusiastic about these kind of relationships. The one relationship where there is actually a blood-connection (cousin and niece) got the lowest rating of all (not even half of the highest rated option, which I'll get to). Stepfather and stepdaughter, stepson and stepmom, and stepbrother and older sister did better than cousin and niece, but still scored significantly less than other options. There is one exception here: a stepbrother and a younger stepsister (which actually will be the topic of an upcoming comic called My best friend's brother), scored quite well - and actually ended in second place. So I might revisit that theme at some point.
So we got second place covered. Third and fourth place go to male student and female teacher, and male teacher and female student, respectively, with not that much difference between them. The theme of a tall, muscular female teacher and short male student has been developed in The Teacher, while small male teachers and tall, muscular female students have featured in Marjorie: the sub (see pic below) and also in Bigger than the Boys.
So, did you figure out by now which option was voted as the absolute number one? I must say it came as a surprise to me. It's the husband and wife/boyfriend and girlfriend option - with 636 points it scored over one hundred points higher than number two (stepbrother and younger stepsister). I think I'll need to ask you guys (and occasional girl) what exactly you like about this kind of relationship - and feel free to let me know in the comments. Should the two be married, or just boyfriend and girlfriend? Fresh relationship, or long standing? With growth, or not? How dominant should the wife or girlfriend be?
In any case, I have of course explored the partner dynamic in quite a few stories: in Amber and Julian (there are actually several couples in there), in Stepmom, in The Bully, in Katie... But I'd love to find out what exactly it is that you find so exciting about partner relationships. For now, I hope you'll enjoy the upcoming The Bride.
And by the way, male boss and female employee and male employee and female boss scored pretty well (below the top four, but not that much), and I'll definitely work more with these themes.
Oh, and there's of course relationship that weren't covered in the survey: like the doctor patient relationship that you can see in Amazon Doctor, Doctor's Appointment, and especially - more developed - in Muscle Therapy.

This is an idea that I share, you can use it however you want or ignore it, don’t worry. I would like to see a comic of a young couple where the girl who is already tall and athletic confesses to her boyfriend that she would like to become very strong. She expects her boy to be scared but he gives her full support. He encourages her to exercise to increase the muscles, learn to cook delicious but healthy dishes for her, encourages her to fulfill more goals such as learning to fight. The boy, seeing that her career is very promising, proposes that he leave his job to focus on taking care of the house and helping her at all times with her training. She accepts and he strives to help her in everything he can. Encouraging her during training, cleaning her sweat, preparing her drinks, giving her massages… Over the years she becomes a very popular bodybuilder, with a career in wrestling and becoming a celebrity for being the actress who plays of a muscular superheroine in a popular movie saga. The thing is that she is strong, famous and rich thanks to a lot of effort and the help of her boyfriend.
It would be interesting to see that at first he wants to keep up and do the same exercise as her. But due to his thin build the boy doesn’t get muscles. She encourages him and tells him not to worry, if he wants he can only do aerobic exercise, he doesn’t have to overexpose himself to support her in this. That would show their good relationship and the difference between their bodies, and their physical strength.
A cool scene that highlights how tall the girl is could be that some young fans ask for a photo, the boyfriend offers to take it and realize how far he has to get to take the picture and see the face of his girl and the fans at the same time. It would also be exciting and cute to see the exchange of roles. For example, she returns home and he is preparing dinner. Or that on her day off she plans to spend a relaxing time with him, but he started cleaning the house, so she becomes dominant and tells him to stop cleaning and pay attention to her alone. It would also be good to have an intimate scene in which they have a role play in which she acts as a wrestling fighter or the superhero she plays.

Well, if i could make a wish i would wish for a loving, less dominant relationship between a non married couple (twenties?) they meet start dating…girl should be already bigger before but you could still let her grow . :D
